Dirk is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He officially joined MSI General in 1983 and was called back into active duty in 2007. Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy as a 3-Star Admiral, Dirk returned to MSI General in 2012. As the third-generation family owner, Dirk strives to build upon the success of our fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction model while leading our team in our shared vision of creating and maintaining raving fans.

Since joining MSI General in 2001, Ken has engaged in every key role of our DESIGNBUILD process. His hands-on experience, integrity and collaborative approach guide our company culture and long-term management of strategic growth. Ken focuses on delivering an unmatched client experience with every construction project while facilitating the career development of each MSI General team member.
Susan Butler, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Susan has been with MSI General for over 30 years and oversees all our financial matters. She works closely with our clients, subcontractors and team members to ensure our contracts and accounting processes are timely and accurate.

With 20-plus years of architectural design experience, Andrea elevates our design standards to new heights. Her ability to bring innovative design concepts to life has been instrumental in the success of many of our projects. She consistently demonstrates exceptional creativity, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills.
Erik Brekke
Director of Preconstruction
With nearly 30 years in the DESIGNBUILD industry, Erik has planned and executed hundreds of complex residential and commercial buildings. He leads the Estimating Team and manages behind-the-scene details, including conceptual budgets, hard budget constraints, project documentation and subcontract negotiation. “Plan the work and work the plan” is the cornerstone of his approach to each project.
Niall Flanagan
Director of Construction
During his tenure with MSI General, Niall has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to our construction team by consistently delivering projects on time and within budget. With a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills, he possesses and conveys extensive knowledge of DESIGNBUILD commercial construction. As Director of Construction, Niall plays a crucial role in overseeing our construction projects and ensuring their successful completion.
John Kutz
Vice President – Director of Sales
John’s career within the construction industry spans nearly two decades. He has been with MSI General since 2012 and focuses on developing strong partnerships with our clients. As the manager of our team of Project Executives and Project Directors, John is responsible for business development, sales, marketing, and overall project leadership from conception to completion.
