Project Superintendent

MSI General is seeking a experienced commercial construction Project Superintendent to join our team! We are one of the first fully integrated design/build construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 60 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating, and construction management. We would like to find a qualified Project Superintendent to supervise day-to-day activities on commercial construction sites. This position develops strategy and plans leading to successful, on-time and in-budget completion of construction projects. Qualified candidates must have general knowledge of all aspects of constructing a building, including, but not limited to, site work, concrete, masonry, steel enclosure, finishes, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop schedules
  • Visit assigned job sites daily
  • Review & interpret drawings and submittals
  • Manage job site safety and cleanliness
  • Maintain copies of drawings and subcontractor submittals
  • Communicate with subcontractors, team members, workers & owners
  • Handle all questions, concerns, or conflicts on the plans or in the field promptly
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices for completed work
  • Report on job status at the weekly company job progress meeting
  • Maintain close contact with the owner or owner’s representative in the field
  • Issue Field Work Authorization Notices for new work
  • Attend project meetings, run regular and special subcontractor coordination meetings

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Or 5-7 years of construction supervision management

Registered Structural Engineer

MSI General is seeking a State of Wisconsin Registered Structural Engineer to join our team! We are one of the first fully integrated design/build construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 60 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating and construction management. We are looking for a Registered Structural Engineer to join our design team and assist in implementing overall project design, coordination and objectives and concepts as they relate to the structural design of our building projects. This position requires a well-rounded structural design background.

Position Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Proficient in the State of Wisconsin Codes and Local Codes
  • Understand and be familiar with the design/build process
  • Be able to produce conceptual and completed engineering concepts
  • Proficient in the design of multiple construction types
  • Understand building materials and accurately assess optimal solution
  • Work with design team to develop complete proposal and construction documents
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment
  • Organize and time manage workload
  • AutoCAD proficiency

Qualifications:

  • 10 years related structural engineering background
  • B.S. Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering (Required)
  • Masters in Structural Engineering (Preferred)
  • Completed PE Exam and hold an EIT Certificate

Project Director – Commercial Construction Sales

MSI General is seeking a experienced commercial construction Project Director to join our team in the Select Projects Division! The focus is on small to medium interior renovations, build-outs and exterior remodeling. We are one of the first fully integrated design/build construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 60 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating, and construction management. We would like to find a sales driven associate with integrity to manage and develop client projects.

Base salary plus commission on sales, profit sharing, fleet car, phone allowance. Generous employee benefit package includes holiday/vacation/sick pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Access over the phone or in person, client needs and information
  • Set up site visit to access project, field measure and/or risk assessment with
  • Architect/field superintendent
  • Write a detailed scope of work that provides client solutions
  • After plan is drawn, review for accuracy of interpretation
  • Send out and track bid requests
  • Qualify bids and prepare cost estimates
  • Write/edit proposals
  • Meet with client and review proposal/plans
  • Revise proposal and plans as needed
  • Discuss timeline and project duration
  • Select subcontractors and issue subcontracts
  • Review finish selection for accuracy
  • Request and assist expeditor to apply for local/state permit
  • Attend pre-start subcontractor meeting at start of job
  • Maintain consistent client contact during duration of project
  • Present owner with any Owner Change Orders
  • Issue any subcontractor invoicing on Viewpoint
  • Punch list walk through with superintendent and client
  • Ensure any punch list items are completed
  • It is expected that the project director develop a network/client base by joining associations, chambers, and organizations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; degree in Architecture, Business, Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in construction, specifically in sales
  • Thorough knowledge of sales process, the design process, and construction process
