Commercial: New Metal Building

Boehlke Bottled Gas

Cedarburg, WI • Completed Fall 2024

Since 1938, the Boehlke family has been a trusted provider of propane delivery services in southeastern Wisconsin. When the fourth-generation owners decided to enhance their operations by constructing a new Nucor metal building for a sophisticated propane bottling carousel system, they turned to MSI General. This advanced system, relatively new to Wisconsin, employs patented handling and processing techniques to ensure a seamless flow of propane cylinders. It can fill over 180 – 33 lb. LPG forklift cylinders per hour, with the potential for even higher output under optimal conditions. The carousel system significantly boosts efficiency and safety while reducing production costs.

The state-of-the-art carousel system, purchased from MAKEEN Energy, a Danish company with a U.S. headquarters in Marshfield, MO, minimizes equipment maintenance and enhances operational uptime. It operates with fewer personnel, which reduces the risk of cylinder damage. This initiative aligns with Boehlke’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices. Overall, it demonstrates their dedication to balancing operational excellence with environmental stewardship.

The building was innovatively designed to meet the complex requirements of the European propane tank filling system. While it is a standard pre-engineered metal structure, its design required extensive coordination with local authorities, engineering teams, and subcontractors to accommodate the specific needs of the high-tech system.
