St. John’s Northwestern Cord Hall

We partnered with St. John’s Northwestern Academies (SJN) to reimagine Cord Hall as a modern, flexible learning hub transforming underused classrooms into spaces that better support collaboration, technology, and student success. As a repeat client, SJN again selected MSI General to help align the remodel with academic goals, daily campus rhythms, and long-term facility planning—delivering an updated environment that feels intentional, welcoming, and future-ready.

Working alongside campus stakeholders, we coordinated decisions around space programming, technology needs, and student flow to ensure the remodel enhanced real-world use, not just the floor plan. Five classrooms were converted into a flexible learning commons anchored by a lounge and multipurpose zone, creating more options for group work, independent study, and informal connection. The scope also included a new state-of-the-art computer lab, a dedicated college counseling space, and the conversion of an existing IT area into an advanced STEM lab, each designed to support evolving curriculum and student services.

Delivered through our integrated DESIGNBUILD approach, this project benefited from Single Source Responsibility™, bringing design and construction under one team for clearer coordination, tighter cost control, and schedule certainty in an active campus setting. By streamlining documentation, trade partner alignment, and on-site execution, we helped SJNA modernize approximately 5,000 SF in Cord Hall with minimal disruption—resulting in adaptable learning spaces that can evolve as technology and instruction continue to change.
