St. John’s Lutheran School Wauwatosa

Originally constructed by MSI General more than 20 years ago, St. John’s Lutheran School is entering its next chapter of growth through a thoughtfully planned expansion and renovation. The new three-story addition was designed to support the school’s evolving educational needs while maintaining continuity with the existing campus.

The addition includes a spacious multi-purpose room, new classrooms, and dedicated fine arts spaces that enhance learning opportunities for students across grade levels. Targeted updates within the existing building further improve functionality, modernize learning environments, and support daily operations.

We partnered closely with school leadership to plan and phase the project in a way that allowed the school to remain fully operational throughout construction. This collaborative approach ensured learning activities continued uninterrupted while creating flexible, future-ready spaces for students and faculty.

Through our DESIGNBUILD delivery method, early collaboration aligned educational priorities with design and construction decisions from the start. Budget control, schedule certainty, and phasing strategies were addressed holistically, allowing the expansion to integrate seamlessly with the existing structure and architectural character.

The completed project positions St. John’s Lutheran School for continued growth, providing modernized, connected learning spaces that honor the school’s history while preparing the campus for the future.

MSI General built the original school in 2003.
