Architect
We are seeking an Architect to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 65 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating and construction management.
Clear communications with our Design, Estimating and Construction teams, and with our clients, is essential to achieve project goals through our proven, unique DESIGNBUILD process. The Architect implements creative solutions with expertise, precision, and a thorough understanding of how a built environment affects its end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update construction documents and drawing details: check-sets, shop and as-builts
- Create and present plan sets, including: site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections details, and other items as necessary to convey design intentions
- Research current municipal requirements, including; zoning, setback, landscape, lighting, parking, easements, design standards, construction materials, allowable heights and area, signage, fire protection and alarms
- Collaborate with our team members and our clients from project start to completion
- Visit project jobsites to ensure that construction adheres to architectural plans
Required Qualifications:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field
- 5+ years of experience in construction and/or architecture
- Member of the American Institute of Architects
- State of Wisconsin Registration as an Architect
Additional Requirements:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to comprehend and retain highly detailed information
- Ability to meet time constraints and adapt easily to changes and demands
- A thorough understanding of value engineering, construction types and techniques, building materials, systems and codes, and the relationship between the design process and the construction process

- Collaborate with the Estimating Team on project preconstruction services
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to analyze all required items to start a project

Administrative Associate
We are seeking a Administrative Associate to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 65 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating and construction management.
Clear, efficient communications are essential to achieve project success through our DESIGNBUILD process. With advanced clerical and organizational skills, the Administrative Associate demonstrates a high level of professionalism within our fast-paced office setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and answer phones from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- Provide weekly Job Progress Meeting support by distributing the reports and organizing the photos and presentation slides
- Finalize and distribute Project Meeting Minutes and Construction Punch Lists
- Clean and organize the café and conference rooms throughout the day
- Provide backup support to the Administrative Manager and the Administrative Team
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional administrative experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Adherence to proper phone and email etiquette

Project Manager
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 65 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating and construction management.
In order to successfully provide project leadership, the Project Manager stays abreast of project timelines and financial constraints. The Project Manager forecasts upcoming critical events and adjusts the construction schedule when necessary while maintaining continuous communication between our team members, clients, subcontractors and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project priorities and make pivotal, key decisions to ensure every project is completed on time and within budget
- Work with the Project Superintendent on jobsite coordination and day-to-day project execution
- Conduct weekly team meetings by preparing meeting agendas, drafting and finalizing meeting minutes, and following up on action items
- Assist in preparing and assembling project proposals and budgets
- Execute owner and subcontractor change orders and FWANs
Required Qualifications:
- Continued Education in Construction Management or a construction trade
- At least 5 years of direct construction supervision management experience or at least 10 years in the construction trades
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- OSHA safety training (10-hour course)
- 15+ years of experience in the construction industry, including DESIGNBUILD experience
Additional Requirements:

- Ability to adapt easily to changes and demands
- Ability to manage complex projects while working with multiple superintendents, clients, subcontractors and inspectors

Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Estimating Team on project preconstruction services, including risk management, municipal approvals and scheduling
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to analyze all required items to start a project
- Assist in developing the front-end schedules
- Track team responsibilities and anticipated completion dates
- Perform daily tasks of answering emails and approving invoices
- Perform project close-out tasks, including punch list completion, as-built package delivery and client follow-up
- Participate in the professional development of our Project Superintendents
- Participate in quarterly performance conversations with the Director of Construction

Project Superintendent
We are seeking a Project Superintendent to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 65 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating and construction management.
As the eyes, ears and voice of MSI General on our construction jobsites, the Project Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day production. Strategic planning and effective communication with our team members, inspectors, subcontractors and clients are paramount to completing our projects safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer project schedules
- Visit assigned job sites daily and manage safety, cleanliness, quality and expected project progress
- Review, interpret, maintain and communicate drawings and subcontractor submittals
- Resolve questions, concerns, or conflicts on plans or in the field promptly with diligence
- Attend project meetings, and run regular/special subcontractor coordination meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Continued Education in Construction Management or a construction trade
- At least 5 years of direct construction supervision management experience or at least 10 years in the construction trades
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- OSHA safety training (30-hour course)
- 15+ years of experience in the construction industry
Additional Requirements:
- Broad understanding of all aspects of constructing a building: site work, concrete, masonry, steel enclosure, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- Thorough awareness of building codes, safety rules and regulations
- Experience using Outlook, Word and Excel, Smartsheet and Autodesk Build

Drafting Engineer
We are seeking a Drafting Engineer to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 65 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating and construction management.
Using BIM (Revit) software, the Drafting Engineer collaborates with our engineers, architects, consultants and clients to convert building concepts and designs into technical plans. Working in tandem with our Structural Engineer, the Drafting Engineer’s responsibilities function as an opportunity for career development as an engineering professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support our Engineers in creating technical plan and detail drawings, and determine material requirements
- Support our Engineers in developing, updating and revising 2D and 3D displays of building structures and building details
- Collaborate with our Architects and Technicians to conceptualize building projects within the limitations of specified materials, guidelines and budget
- Work cohesively with our entire DESIGNBUILD team on multiple projects from start to completion
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
- At least an Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
