Marketing Coordinator

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 66 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in architectural design and construction management. To ensure consistent, cohesive execution of our DESIGNBUILD brand, the Marketing Coordinator provides support to our internal and external marketing operations. Technical savvy and effective communication skills are essential to streamlining our evolving print and digital marketing initiatives while promoting our unique services, client relations, and corporate culture. This is a full-time position.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, produce and maintain graphic and written content for our website and social media platforms
  • Support the Marketing Committee and Marketing Team to execute our Marketing Vision
  • Assist the Sales Team and Design Team with project proposal presentations
  • Update marketing displays throughout the office: Construction, Teamwork and Featured Project Photos and TV Slides
  • Design ads, brochures, flyers, e-blasts and digital marketing campaigns

 

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attain a working knowledge of our past projects
  • Acquire general knowledge of construction operations, architectural design, and sales to promote and support team and company goals
  • Assist the Design Team with project award/recognition submittals
  • Assist the Sales Team in planning and attending ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, trade shows and other networking events
  • Assist the Administrative Team with graphical branding, promotional items, jobsite signs, etc.
  • Assist in writing copy for press releases, ads, articles and brochures
  • Coordinate professional photography and videography when needed
  • Photograph jobsites and company events when needed
  • Maintain our photo and video library of projects and events
  • Promote MSI General’s corporate culture: employee wellness, employee celebrations, company events, educational outreach and employee recruitment
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and company events as necessary

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Communications, Graphic Design or related field
  • At least 1-2 years of professional marketing experience
  • Experience in an architectural and/or construction firm

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Creative and technical ability to execute advertising and promotional strategies
  • Thorough understanding of digital marketing campaigns and search engine optimization
  • Graphic design and photo/video editing experience using the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Rush
  • Proficiency using WordPress, HubSpot and Canva, or equivalent programs
  • Valid Driver’s License

Project Superintendent

We are seeking a Project Superintendent to join our team. MSI General is one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 66 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in architectural design and construction management. The Project Superintendent is responsible for coordinating, scheduling and supervising day-to-day activities on our construction job sites. Strategic planning is essential to completing our projects on time and within budget. The Project Superintendent provides the eyes, ears and voice of MSI General in the field while effectively communicating with our team members, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer project schedules
  • Visit assigned job sites daily and manage safety and cleanliness
  • Review, interpret and maintain drawings and subcontractor submittals
  • Resolve questions, concerns, or conflicts on plans or in the field promptly with diligence
  • Attend project meetings, and run regular/special subcontractor coordination meeting

 

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices for completed work
  • Report on current job status(es) at our weekly company job progress meetings
  • Maintain close contact with the owner and/or owners’ reps in the field
  • Issue Field Work Authorization Notices for non-contracted work
  • Prepare and distribute weekly meeting minutes and end-of-week updates
  • Participate in quarterly performance conversations with the Director of Construction

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Continued Education in Construction Management or a trade
  • OSHA safety training (30-hour course)

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of direct construction supervision management, or 10-15 years in the general trades including trade or general construction supervision experience
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Position Requirements and Competencies:
  • Broad understanding of all aspects of constructing a building: site work, concrete, masonry, steel enclosure, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Basic math and geometry skills
  • Thorough awareness of building codes, safety rules and regulations
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience using Smartsheet for project scheduling and PlanGrid Build
  • Good vision and driving skills
  • Ability to walk a construction site and climb a ladder, capable of accessing all construction areas and tolerating adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to anticipate unforeseen issues, develop alternative plans, coordinate important details, adjust priorities, and delegate as needed
  • Ability to interact and communicate with others respectfully and professionally
  • Ability to accept new duties, responsibilities, and other assignments readily
  • Desire to follow through effectively by turning concepts into actions

Architect

MSI General is seeking an experienced commercial construction Architect to join our team! We are one of the first fully integrated DESIGNBUILD construction firms in Wisconsin, with over 66 years of continuous profitability delivering excellence in design, estimating, and construction management. The Architect at MSI General is responsible for overall project design implementation, concepts and objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop proposal and construction documents
  • Prepare plan sets that include; site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, details sections, and other items as necessary to convey the design intent
  • Participate in design presentations with our team members and our clients
  • Research municipal requirements including; zoning, setback, landscape, lighting, parking, easements, design standards, construction materials, allowable heights and area, signage, fire protection and alarms
  • Demonstrate high competence in detailing and dissecting building components

 

Required Knowledge:
  • Current State of Wisconsin and local codes
  • AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, SketchUp, Microsoft Office
  • Building materials and related construction types and techniques
  • Relationship between the design process and the construction process
  • Building systems – Structural, MEP, site analysis
  • Concept of value engineering from the initial design concept while still creating design excellence
  • Current drawing standards
  • MSI General’s current Master Specification requirements

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Architecture
  • 8-15 years of architectural experience
