We partnered with St. Peter’s Church to deliver a thoughtfully planned west-side expansion that enhances functionality while preserving the welcoming, humble character of this small country parish. Through a collaborative DESIGNBUILD approach, the addition was carefully scaled and detailed to respect the existing church’s proportions, materials, and traditional architectural language, allowing the new construction to feel like a natural extension of the original structure.
Early coordination focused on aligning design decisions with the parish’s operational needs, accessibility goals, and long-term stewardship priorities. Interior planning centered on a large gathering space that encourages fellowship before and after services, supported by a warming kitchen designed for community meals and parish events. Accessibility was a key consideration throughout the project, including a new handicap-accessible entry from the south parking lot to ensure all members of the congregation experience a welcoming and inclusive arrival.
The addition also includes men’s, women’s, and unisex restrooms, two flexible meeting rooms for ministries and small groups, and a dedicated pastor’s office with a private study area. A carefully planned connection to the existing north entry allows the new and original spaces to function as one cohesive environment. The completed project reflects the value of integrated planning and construction—supporting the church’s growing needs while maintaining the timeless, familiar atmosphere that defines St. Peter’s Church.
