Industrial: Manufacturing
Prestwick Group
2020 Completed Project: Sussex, WI
The Prestwick Group began in 1997, creating golf course accessories out of a 750 sq. ft. facility in Nashotah, Wisconsin. By 2003, the company began offering customized site furnishings for golf properties nationwide. In 2017, the National Golf Foundation recognized Prestwick as a worldwide leader in golf and included the company as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Businesses in Golf. As a leader of customized outdoor site furnishings, Prestwick set a goal to become the premier manufacturer of recycled plastic furniture worldwide. This lofty goal entailed making a major investment into their existing facility in Sussex, Wisconsin. MSI General and Zimmerman Architectural Studios partnered with The Prestwick Companies to perform three major upgrades. First, to support their growing team, an additional 11,700 sq. ft. of mezzanine office space was built within the existing facility. Second, they designed and built an addition to the existing manufacturing plant, thereby adding 33,380 sq. ft. of usable space to expand the production facilities of their furniture lines and allow for a newly acquired business unit to move in from out of state. Third, the Stirling Building was erected—a new 42,500 sq. ft. precast building. Preparing the building site included extensive sitework and blasting of bedrock. The three major projects for the Prestwick Campus was delivered on time during the COVID pandemic of 2020/2021.
