Municipal: Dept. of Public Works
Village of Summit DPW
2017 Completed Project: Summit, WI
The Village of Summit partnered with MSI General who assisted with multiple site analysis and options that included new facilities or remodeling of the former building to figure out the best value for the community. Multiple site locations and site plans on each were evaluated before deciding on the Delafield Road location. The key objectives were to design and build three, new and highly aesthetic facilities for the Village of Summit Municipal services, including the Village Government Hall, Police Department, and Department of Public Works with an additional salt storage building. The Village staff were involved during the project by attending meetings and site walkthroughs, and making decisions for their new facilities.
A rural architectural design was used to complement the surrounding Lake Country area. Interior spaces share a common lobby with direct access to the Village Hall, Village Offices, and Police Department while maintaining a key focus on safety. The large community room was designed to host village meetings, various sized events, as well as provide adequate space for voting. The Police Department was built with several secure areas including a booking room, interrogation rooms, weapon room, evidence processing room, and a ready room that were carefully coordinated and designed while working directly with the Police Chief. Hydronic heated floors were used in both the Police Department garage and the Department of Public Works shop.
Village of Summit
I would highly recommend MSI General to any organization looking for a hard-working firm in the Design-Build or Construction Management roll. They worked diligently with us to understand our needs and helped us meet or exceed our goals.
