We partnered with BASE (Badgerland After School Enrichment Program) to deliver a DESIGNBUILD renovation and facility transformation that creates a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for kids after the school day ends. Developed through a multi-year effort to identify and transform the right location, the finished space reflects a strong commitment to supporting youth development and strengthening the surrounding community.
Every aspect of the facility was planned with kids at the center of the design. Dedicated early childhood education spaces provide a nurturing setting for younger learners, while youth programming areas are tailored by age group to encourage learning, creativity, and social connection.
Exterior improvements modernized the facility and enhanced functionality, safety, and curb appeal. Updates included new windows, a refreshed façade, and an improved parking lot designed to support safe and efficient access. The outdoor environment was further enhanced with a dedicated play area featuring new children’s play systems, creating engaging opportunities for active play and outdoor programming.
Through a collaborative DESIGNBUILD approach, planning, design, and construction were aligned early to ensure the space met both immediate program needs and long-term goals. Interior renovations were thoughtfully designed to support a wide range of after-school and enrichment activities. Dedicated early childhood education spaces provide a nurturing environment for younger learners, while youth programming areas are organized by age group to encourage creativity, engagement, and social interaction.
A key component of the project was planning for future growth. Future project phases will include a community gym for recreation, activities, and events, along with a fully equipped commercial kitchen to support food education and shared community meals.
