Retail/Hospitality: Bar & Event Space
NorthSouth Club
2020 Completed Project: Milwaukee, WI
The building located at 230 E. Pittsburgh Avenue in the Walker’s Point neighborhood was previously a heavy equipment service building from the 1940s. It is now a unique, dual-activity entertainment venue featuring sixteen axe throwing lanes and seven shuffleboard courts. The owners of Bars & Recreation, David and Marla Poytinger, partnered with MSI General for the 13,000 sq. ft. renovation. By revamping the electrical, plumbing, walls, flooring and facade, they creatively transformed the old garage with its clear-span steel girder trusses into a fun, functional recreational facility. NorthSouth Club offers its patrons two completely different environments – a north woods, flannel-shirt vibe while throwing axes and a sandals-and-sand vibe while playing shuffleboard.

“Working with MSI General to deliver NorthSouth Club was an incredibly positive experience. Their Project management team ensured that we were informed throughout the process of what was happening and why. Rick and the onsite team went above and beyond to help us realize our vision and were able to adapt their working style to the way we like to complete these types of projects. Their contractors were always professional, organized, and adapted well to the unique requirements of and axe-throwing & shuffleboard bar. I look forward to working with them in the future and would recommend them for a creative and professionals design builder.” David Poytiner, Co-founder of Bars & Rec
