Chicago Tube & Iron

2009 Completed Project: Fond du Lac, WI

When Chicago Tube & Iron decided to move their facility north to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, they selected MSI General as their DesignBuild partner. They needed a northern distribution center to ship steel to their Fox Valley location and to local clients, all from a more centralized location. The 117,000 sq. ft. facility includes drive-through truck bays to allow steel to be loaded directly from a rack by crane, thereby speeding up the delivery process. The building structure is high-bay pre-cast concrete with added architectural appeal.

“Over our thirty-five year careers, Bob Haigh and I have built many plants and have worked with dozens of contractors. Frankly, the result is a growing disdain for much of the industry, as the simple foundation of honoring one’s commitment seems to escape many in the field. However, to our benefit we chose the perfect partner, MSI General, for our Fond du Lac expansion. We have clearly been with the right contractor. This has been one of the most enjoyable expansion experiences in my career.” Don McNeeley, President of Chicago Tube & Iron
